What is included
Training
Head loupes microsuction training is conducted at your pharmacy or clinic
at no extra cost. Alternatively, you may attend training at a venue close
to you.
We regularly run regional training sessions each month, ensuring that if
you miss a date, another opportunity will be available shortly after.
The cost covers up to 5 eligible staff to be trained. If you wish to train
more than 5 staff, a £99 + VAT fee will apply per trainee. Training is done
in groups to ensure every trainee is competent.
Independent reviews of our service are available upon request.
What does the training involve?
Seminar 1 – Introduction to Clinical Earcare (1 hour)
Seminar 2 – Outer ear anatomy and physiology (2.5 hours)
Seminar 3 – Cerumen (2 hours)
Seminar 4 – Pathology (2 hours)
Seminar 5 – Earwax Removal (2 hours)
Seminar 6 – Governance, Record Keeping and more (1.5 hours)
Seminar 7 – What to prepare for the face to face training session (1 hours)
Seminar 8 – How to setup an Earwax Removal service successfully (Optional) (1.5hrs)
Theory Test on Seminars 1 to 7
Practical On-Site Training (4–6 hours)
- Delivery of your equipment
- Setup, tutorial and maintenance of:
- Microsuction machine
- Low-pressure irrigation system
- Demonstrations and hands-on practice using:
- Head loupes assisted microsuction
- Low-pressure irrigation
- Manual tools (on training dummies)
- Live patient demonstrations followed by supervised hands-on practice
with 1-1 time with the trainer - Full demonstration of a live appointment, followed by trainees
completing appointments from start to finish - Q&A session
- Opportunity to revisit and refine techniques
- Final sign-off and certification
Retraining is carried out remotely if required.
